Service Description

We are thrilled to announce the addition of a welding automation class to our state-licensed program - PWU-600 Arc Tool Robotics. PWU-600 provides students with a comprehensive overview of the tasks and responsibilities required for a robotic welding technician. Working hands-on with PIT’s APT Manufacturing Mod-Weld system with Fanuc CRX 10iA Cobot and Fronius TPSi power supply, students will learn robotic and welding safety, proper equipment usage and care, robotic programming with manual handling clever torch and legacy pendant controls. Students will be asked to create various weld programs, using industry standard procedures with a variety of material positions and joints to prepare students for job placement in an automated fabrication and manufacturing setting. Topics will also include automated waveforms for Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) including pulse, weaves, synergic and patented Fronius CMT technology. PWU-100 (MIG/TIG) and PWU-500 (Blueprint Reading) are pre-requisites for the course. Students currently enrolled in our fall and winter semesters will be eligible to enroll in Arc Tool Robotics for the summer semester. Registration for the class will open in January.
