Furniture Row Racing’s pit crew trains at PIT full-time. PIT’s state-of-the-art facility makes it a perfect training location for top teams as it includes a 1/4 mile track, six pit stall pit road with high definition cameras above each stall, film review rooms and a full gym. The Furniture Row Racing team hopes that training at PIT will give them an advantage over the competition heading into the 2013 season.

Norfolk Navel Shipyard - November 28th, 2012

Norfolk Naval Shipyard sent a team to PIT on November 27th and 28th for a two day Lean Performance U program. The program focused on teamwork and lean practices and included, two race shop tours, theatre presentations and a hands-on pit road experience. The teams performed six pit stops each, with unique scenarios incorporated into every round.

Discount Tire - October 31st, 2012

On October 31st, PIT coordinated the 2012 Discount Tire Company Pit Crew Challenge at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) in Las Vegas, NV. It was the sixth consecutive year that PIT has setup the competition.

Twenty-four teams from around the country traveled to LVMS for the competition that included practice time, a qualifying round and sudden death elimination rounds for the eight highest seeded teams. For the second time, number three ranked Florida won the competition, beating number eight ranked San Antonio with a winning time of 26.27 seconds. Last year’s winner, Los Angeles failed to rank in the final eight after receiving a five second penalty in qualifying.

In addition to the Pit Crew Challenge inside the LVMS “Neon Garage”, there were several other vendors and activities for participants to partake in throughout the day.

Requiro Scientia - October 12th, 2012

A team with Requiro Scientia held a half-day team building experience at PIT that included PIT’s “Think Inside the Box” theatre presentation followed by a hands-on pit road experience. The hands-on experience included pit crew training, and four full NASCAR style pit stops.

A team of top managers from Con-Way Freight held a unique three day Lean Performance U event at Performance Instruction & Training in Mooresville, NC. The event included a theatre presentation, tours of Red Horse Racing and Michael Waltrip Racing, an in-depth pit crew training experience and more.

United States Air Force - August 7th & 8th, 2012

The United States Air Force sent 33 people to PIT from the Dover, DE base on August 7-8 for a Lean Performance U event. Their time at PIT included a “Think Inside the Box” theatre presenation, Red Horse Racing Insiders Shop Tour, Michael Waltrip Racing tour, pit road experience and more.

Eaton Corporation - July 18th, 2012

Eaton Corporation returned to PIT for the third consecutive year for a half-day team building event. Their time at PIT included a Introduction to Motorsports theatre presentation, followed by an interactive hands-on pit crew training session. Each team performed four pit stops with video review following each stop.

Scynexis brought a team to PIT on June 29th for a team building experience that included a half-day of action packed activities. It included a theatre presentation and pit road experience which saw participants learn about each of the positions on a NASCAR style pit crew.
