PIT to Host Third Annual Open House during Charlotte Race Weeks

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 8, 2012) - Performance Instruction & Training (PIT) is kicking off Charlotte race weeks by hosting their third annual Open House on Tuesday, May 22nd from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. All are invited to join PIT in touring the 32,000 square foot facility, and gain insight on the pit crew training programs that are offered to those who aspire to become a full-time over the wall pit crew member.

Also, on hand from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. will be an autograph session featuring Red Horse Racing driver’s Timothy Peters and John King along with NASCAR TV personality and PIT partner, Jeff Hammond. Fans are welcomed to be entertained by live pit-stop demonstrations on the half hour, starting at 7:30 p.m. Limited, Red Horse Racing race used sheet metal will be part of the memorabilia raffle at 8:00 p.m.

Don’t worry about going hungry, The Sports Page of Mooresville will be there with multiple dinner options. Thirsty? SPEED Energy will be there to quench your thirst with free samples of their four flavored energy drinks.

Toyota, manufacturing partner of Red Horse Racing will have the 2012 Daytona 500 Toyota Pace Car on site for your viewing pleasure. Also on display, John King’s 2012 NextEra Energy Resources 250, No. 7 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra, Daytona International Raceway winning truck.

Stop by PIT’s booth at the NASCAR Pit Crew Challenge on May 17, 2012 at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C. for your Open House flyer and a 10% discount towards Pit Crew U. Coupons will also be available the evening of the open house.

The open house will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. The shop is located at 156 Byers Creek Road, Mooresville, N.C. 28117. Parking is available on site.

Obstacle Course

PIT is working on a new team building based program that includes an obstacle course. The course requires participants to engineer and execute a plan as a team to be able to complete the course in the alloted amount of time.

Borg Warner - 10/23/11 - 10/24/11

A team of engineers from the Borg Warner facility in Asheville, NC held internal meetings at Performance Instruction & Training on January 23rd, followed by a pit crew experience on January 24th.

Photos show the teams in action during their pit road experience, which included demonstration pit stops by professionally trained pit crew athletes, extensive hands-on training and four pit stops per team.

Biogen Idec, Inc - 11/09/11

Biogen Idec, Inc. visited PIT on November 9th, 2011 for a 1/2 day team building program that included a 1.5 hour theatre presentation followed by a hands-on pit road experience.

Scheriber Foods - 10/25/11 - 10/28/11

Scheriber Foods, brought 29 plant managers to PIT for a three-day corporate training event October 25-28.

Their program included race shop tours, and an extensive hands-on pit road experience and debrief the following day.

Huntington-Ingalls Industries - 10/24/11 - 10/26/11

Huntington-Ingalls Industries returned to PIT for a second consecutive corporate training session on October 24-26. Again, they brought 84 employees to PIT for a three-day corporate training experience that included race shop tours, internal meetings utilizing PIT’s 100 seat theatre and breakout rooms and pit road experience.
